You get the same exact
rooms as you would by going directly to any Madrid
Housing Agency, but at our lower rate and with more
flexible conditions. Our Booking fee is only 50
euros per person. Also,
if you do not speak Spanish, the English speaking
level at most of the Madrid Housing Agencies is good
enough to deal with face to face, but not good
enough to make your initial booking, which will set
you up with a place you can go to when you first
arrive, where you can leave your stuff and / or
sleep until you can go into your specific agency's
office and see them in person.
We do not own any of the
flats. We book all of the rooms in shared flats
from established housing agencies in Madrid. They
do own a few themselves but get most of them from
their own internal database of Madrid landlords.
Using the list of the
top 5 metro stops you indicated that you want your
flat to be near, we contact all of the Madrid
housing agencies until we find you the best room
available to start you out with when you first get
to Madrid. We then give the agencies your security
deposit and pay them your rent to reserve you your
room.
We can not reserve a
room for you without paying the Madrid housing
agencies at least one week's rent. As soon as we
pay the agencies, they give us your address and we
immediately pass this information on to you with all
of your specific agency's details. Between all
of the
agencies there are always rooms
available somewhere in Madrid. Our aim is to start
you out at the flat that best matches your request
so that you will have a place to put your stuff and
sleep when you first arrive in Madrid and until you
can go into your specific Madrid housing agency's
office and deal with them directly.
The rooms are located
all over Madrid. Most no more than 20 to 30 minutes
from the center by Metro or Bus. We use the
information from the housing request form to contact
agency after agency until we book you the best room
available for the dates you have indicated. This
will be the flat where you will start out at when
you first arrive in Madrid. If you like it, then
you can continue to stay there for the rest of your
time. If you do not like it, then you can contact
your specific housing agency and request a change to
another room or another flat or just leave anytime
after the time you have paid for is up.
No problem. Just go
into your specific housing agency's office and
request another room or flat directly from them.
You will have to go into your specific housing
agency's office anyway within your first 3 days in
Madrid in order to register with your passport to
claim your security deposit and / or to request more
days, so you can also request a room or flat change
directly from them if you are not happy with your
room or you can request and pay for an extension if
you are.
When you first arrive in
Madrid you will have up to 3 days to contact your
specific Madrid housing agency and schedule a time
when you will go in person with your passport to
register with them and ask them all of your
questions. If everything is okay at the flat when
you check out and you do not owe rent for any
additional nights, then you can schedule another
time with the agency when you can go in and collect
your security deposit at the end of your stay.
There is a 7 night
minimum that you will have to pay in order to book
the rooms, but you can pay for as many more nights
that you need. You can actually
leave whenever you want, but will not be given back
any money for unused rent, so try not to pay for any
more nights that you are sure that you will need. The agencies
will keep all of the rent money and the booking fee
and only give you back your deposit.
You will need to
ask your specific landlord and / or agency for
permission at least two or three days in advance
providing them with the names, ages and dates of the
guests that will be visiting you at the flat and you
will have to pay an extra rent / utilities
supplement. Usually 15 euros a night if they are
provided with their own room in the same flat or 10
euros a night per person if they sleep in your room.
Furnished single and
double rooms in shared flats (one week minimum). All of the established Madrid Housing
agencies we book your room through will have other
options for you to choose from. You can deal with
them directly once you are here in Madrid and have
gotten in to see them at our lower prices.
